About Silverflow

Accepting card payments is essential to your business.

6.0 billion cards

With 3.4 billion Visa cards and 2.6 billion Mastercards worldwide, it is essential to accept both Visa and Mastercard for an international active retailer.

$3.8 trillion

Together Visa and Mastercard processed 56.9 billion transactions in the second quarter of 2019 with a total value of $3.8 trillion.

14% Year-on-year growth

The number of transactions processed in the second quarter of 2019 has increased with 14% in comparison to the same period last year.

50% share in online

In Europe, card payments have a 50% share of total e-commerce transaction volume. In North-America and Latin-America this is even higher with respectively 69% and 64%.

Accepting cross-border card payments is hard.

To accept cross-border card payment, a retailer needs to contract an acquiring bank and connect to the bank’s card processing platform. These steps have to be repeated in every region the retailer wants to be active. Once setup, the retailer needs to deal with card scheme rules, complex fees structures and extensive security demands. Technical changes - whether driven by regulators or new innovations - require keeping development resources available to maintain and update all bank connections, or risk decreasing authorization rates or higher card fees.
